Sanyo Chemical Group implemented\u00a0the “WakuWaku\u00a0Explosion 2030” management policy in\u00a0March\u00a02022.<\/p>\n

Based on the company mission\u00a0since our\u00a0foundation,\u00a0\u201c Establish a better society through our corporate\u00a0activities\u201d,\u00a0each and every employee has been working to create values toward becoming a\u00a0\u201cWakuWaku*\u00a0company\u201d,\u00a0where everyone can shine, with the three\u00a0pillars of\u00a0\u201cContribution to carbon neutrality\u201d, \u201cImprovement of\u00a0QOL\u201c and \u201d Improvement of\u00a0job satisfaction\u201d so that we can contribute to create sustainable societies.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, in FY2022, negative factors such as China\u2018s lockdown due to COVID-19, soar of energy prices due to the turmoil in Ukraine, automobile production cutbacks due to semiconductor shortages, sharp yen depreciation, and other global environmental changes have had significant impacts on our business operations.<\/p>\n

In order to realize the ideal status envisioned in our management policy, we have formulated a new medium-term management plan, a three-year plan in which we describe a roadmap and specific initiatives. \u00a0Guided by this new medium-term management plan, Sanyo group as one team will pay efforts to enhance our values through entire supply chain and accelerate the creation of new values through innovation through the power of chemistry beyond the boundaries of chemistry.<\/p>\n

Management Policy Toward the 2030 Vision \u201cWakuWaku Explosion 2030\u201d<\/h2>\n

We have changed our slogan \u201c KAERU (committed to change)\u201d to \u201cWakuWaku\u201d and also put our passion for sustainable growth into the word \u201cExplosion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Together with \u201cWakuWaku\u201d and \u201cExplosion,\u201d we have defined a new Mission, Values, and Vision.<\/p>\n

In our management policy, the Mission (company mission) includes \u201cbetter society,\u201d which refers to the environment-friendly circular-oriented society, a society where people can live healthy and safely and where everyone can shine with their personality. With these goals in mind, we will work together and strive to achieve them.<\/p>\n

As for the Vision, while we retain the idea of the 10th mid-term management plan, we specified action principles \u201cWe create innovations beyond the boundaries of chemistry, by the inspirations of our diversified employees, the cooperation of our company and all our stakeholders, and the implementation of rapid and continuous challenges\u201d and \u201cCo-create the environmental and social value and economical value\u201d to deliver \u201cEnhanced Corporate Value.\u201d<\/p>\n

Transformation Toward the Vision<\/h3>\n

We have designed the 2024 vision, one of the milestones toward the 2030 vision. The company\u2019s business activities have been re-organized and divided into 3 categories of \u201cNew Growth Path\u201d, \u201cGrowth from Core Business\u201d, and \u201cReformation of Existing Business\u201d. We will re-build and reinforce the business portfolio under the policy of these categories.<\/p>\n

Activities to Support the Transformation<\/h3>\n

Under the idea \u201cEvery employee in various situations plays a leading role,\u201d which includes employees of our overseas sites and production sites as well as the headquarter sector, we are determined to spotlight everyone so that every employee can shine and experience a sense of accomplishment. We have made a slogan \u201cEvery department is a profit center\u201d which expresses the idea.<\/p>\n

We believe that being a company that makes every employee WakuWaku is a key activity that supports the transformation toward the vision.<\/p>\n

Specifically, we have defined action plans for corporate reform such as production site reform, corporate function strategy to generate profit, DEI (diversity, equity & inclusion), workplace reform, and the use of DX.<\/p>\n

Basic Policies of the New Medium-Term Management Plan 2025<\/h2>\n

Business Strategy (FY2023-FY2025)<\/h3>\n

1. Growth from Core Business<\/p>\n

We will position five focus product groups that contribute to carbon neutrality (CN) and QOL (quality of life) as \u201chigh value-added products category\u201d and accelerate research and development as well as capital investment in these products category in order to generate earnings.<\/p>\n

2. Reformation of Existing Business<\/p>\n

We will improve profitability by transforming business process throughout the supply chain and implementing structural reforms in the polyurethane and superabsorbent polymer (SAP) businesses.<\/p>\n

We will expand facilities in overseas\u00a0plants and strengthen functions of overseas sales offices.<\/p>\n
